Dominick Cruz is a mixed martial artist and former two-time UFC Bantamweight Champion. He also is a UFC Color Commentator & Analyst on FOX.

Dominick Cruz is coming off a major upset of a loss during his title fight at UFC 207 Rousey vs Nunes to Cody “No love” Garbrandt who ironically is the student of Dom’s recently retired arch rival Urijah Faber. Dom was the heavy favorite walking into the fight but Garbrandt shocked the world with a spectacular performance beating Cruz and by a decision which was something nobody saw coming. Post fight Cruz handled the press like a true champion accepting the defeat and making no excuses promising to come back better than ever.

Dom’s thoughts on his recent huge upset loss to Cody: “I accepted the loss immediately, as long as you can embrace it & not make excuses for it you can look at it then take it in.”

Dominick’s Unique Style

Dominick Cruz has the most unique style of fighting in the sport with a stance and movement unlike anyone else, he used this strange style to become have an unmatched defense and got the nickname “the ghost” due to his opponents never being able to touch him. He discusses the origin of the style, stating that when he was starting at the early stages of MMA he knew he had to do something different from all other fighting styles, fighting his opponent constantly avoiding their center line was the core of his unique style.

Cruz talks about his injury streak which was one of the worst in the history of the sport these injuries put Cruz out of action for nearly 4 years and resulting in the UFC stripping him of the championship. Dom explains how during that point of setback after setback how he hit rock bottom, he states when he learnt to let go of the desire to bounce back and win the belt with all the pressures and stress that goes along with that burden and replace it with other things in life. His health skyrocketed which led him to come back to the greatest preformance of his career. A month after that Dom blew his opposite knee out putting him out for another 9 months.  After a getting a broken rib and Plantar Fasciitis during his training camp Dom won the title.
